TAPU VĀ  - LET'S TALANOA ABOUT PASIFIKA SEXUAL HEALTH

Tapu Vā (@tapuva.nz) is a safe space to talanoa about Pasifika sexual health. It’s a digital story-telling platform to share the voices, stories and aspirations of Pasifika young people, their families and communities.

About Tapu Vā

Tapu Vā is about elevating the thought leadership that exists in Pasifika communities. It’s about bringing about change so that everyone has equitable access to sexual and reproductive health. Love, affection, vā and respect all play a role in healthy relationships and contribute to our sense of wellbeing.

How was it made?

A series of ‘backyard sessions’ took place in Auckland, Hawkes Bay and Otago to capture video stories from Pasifika communities talking about their hopes for Pasifika sexual health. Pasifika young people and their villages/communities are also invited to add their own stories and join the e-talanoa.

Centring Kakala Research Framework and Pasifika young people end to end, Te Hiringa Hauora - Health Promotion Agency partnered with Pasifika creatives collective, Hard Luck Design.
